You Have What it Takes: Start Your Own VA Business

Updated: Aug 20, 2023

This is exactly how I got started working from home. I began as a Virtual Assistant for a large company that provides VAs for a wide variety of businesses. Then, I started my own business and now work for myself for one client that I adore.

If you are a mom seeking ways to earn extra income without compromising on family time, and tons of other perks, the path of a VA might just be the perfect fit for you.

So, What's a Virtual Assistant Anyway?

Imagine this: you're the superhero behind the scenes, offering top-notch admin, creative, or tech support to businesses and entrepreneurs – all from the cozy comfort of your own home. Yep, that's a Virtual Assistant for you! It's working in your pajamas while sipping your morning coffee and performing a wide variety of administrative tasks for clients from all walks of life. Every day is different!

Why Virtual Assistance Rocks for Moms

1. Flexibility: We know how crucial it is to balance work and family life. With VA gigs, you're the boss of your schedule. Juggling school runs and work tasks? Totally doable! You get the freedom to work your own hours and be there for your kids and your clients.

2. Your Business, Your Rules: Here's the cool part – you can either start your own VA business or work for companies that provide talented VAs to different types of businesses. Even if you work for someone else, the freedom is still there. You just don't have to find your own clients.

3. No Superhero Cape Needed: Unlike those traditional jobs that scream for degrees and certificates, VA life is all about using your existing skills. You've got the talents, and those talents are sought after. Use the skills you know and learn the ones you don't to help business owners succeed.

4. Hot Demand Alert: Everyone's catching on to the VA trend. Businesses are loving the idea of outsourcing tasks, which means they're hunting for super-skilled VAs like you! You can have 1 or 10 clients! It's totally up to you!

Examples of VA Tasks

Virtual Assistants wear a bunch of hats – good VAs are like the ultimate multitasking superheroes. Here are just some tasks they can handle to help businesses run smoother:

1. Administrative Assistance

2. Social Media Management

3. Content Creation

4. Customer Support

5. Data Entry

6. Graphic Design

7. Website Maintenance

8. Research Tasks

9. Email Marketing

10. Booking and Travel Arrangements

11. Transcription

12. Online Event Support

13. Bookkeeping

14. Proofreading and Editing

15. Personal Tasks

Remember, every VA can have their own unique skill set, so you can choose the tasks that align with your strengths. And if you ever need to learn something new, the internet is your best friend!

Time to Get Rolling

Starting your own business is not as scary as it seems. And if you do feel like that's not the right fit, reach out to a company that is looking for VAs instead. I started out that way to learn the ropes of being a VA and it paid off!
